Radar Antenna Design Engineer
Antenna/RF Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced RF Design Engineer to design and develop antennas for various applications, including phased array apertures. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using industry-standard simulation tools to model, analyze, and optimize antenna designs, while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop antennas such as patch, horn, slot, and spiral antennas for individual use or as part of a phased array aperture.Utilize industry-standard simulation tools like HFSS, CST, FEKO, and NEC for modeling, analysis, and optimization of antenna designs.Conduct design trade studies to evaluate antenna type, polarization, gain, beamwidth, cost, and manufacturing ease for optimal solutions.Perform antenna-level evaluations to characterize parameters including gain, directivity, beamwidth, mutual coupling, and return loss.Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and Systems engineering teams to ensure seamless antenna integration into overall systems.Represent the company in technical reviews, meetings, and formal design reviews.Stay informed on innovations and trends within the antenna industry.Essential SkillsBachelor's, Master's, or PhD in engineering or related technical discipline with progressive experience: twelve years with a Bachelor's, ten years with a Master's, or seven years with a PhD.Detailed technical expertise in engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice.Experience in designing various antenna types including patch, horn, slot, conformal, and spiral antennas.Proficiency in designing antenna elements for phased array systems.Experience in using electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, and FEKO for antenna design, simulation, and optimization.Proficiency in antenna measurement techniques and operating standard lab equipment.Ability to manage subcontractors and work independently or within a team.

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in designing antennas for radars and/or Electronic Warfare systems.Experience with simulating electromagnetic systems.Work Environment

The position involves working in a dynamic R&D environment focused on developing electromagnetic and electric power generation systems for defense, industrial, and commercial applications. The work supports critical fleet, space systems, satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications worldwide. The role offers great benefits and includes a pension plan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $245000.00/yr.
