Your Role at Baxter

As a Baxter R & D Vision Screening and Diagnostics Co-op, you will contribute directly to our mission to empower clinicians and health systems with tools to make a difference in patients and clinicians' lives.

We are an embedded software team within the Baxter Vision Screening and Diagnostics group charged with creating and maintaining the next generation of medical devices and cameras. We are seeking co-ops to help us research, innovate, and participate in the creation and release of product software.

Your Team

You will be a member of the Vision Screening and Diagnostics group, which supports both new product development projects and sustainment of currently marketed products. You will work with a cross functional team that consists of other engineering disciplines, operations, and quality assurance.  We work together to develop, test, and launch products that improve patient care.

What you'll be doing

The co-op will support the project team by participating and assisting in the building and operation of prototypes with the goal of developing new futuristic products.

Create and complete hardware builds and perform testing.Support testing and development of product software.Research and Test Technologies from many industries to support our future medical products.Follow company processes, while communicating and working on a team to meet project schedules.Participate in team meetings to drive innovation and overcome hurdles.

What you'll bring

Bachelor’s Degree recently completed or in progress (Electrical, Software Engineering, Biomedical or comparable technical subject area).Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others multi-functionally.Strategic problem solver; also execute with excellent attention to detail.Organization & ability to progress on many different tasks in parallel.Learns quickly and demonstrates ability to quickly and proficiently understand, absorb, and synthesize new information. Proficient in an object-oriented programming language such as Python, QT, C++, or JavaScript.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated hourly rate for this position is between $25.00 - $27.00 per hour. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
