Your Future Role
The Engineer will coordinate and lead product development projects for medium voltage drives, ensuring they meet product requirements and cost targets. The role involves resolving technical issues, providing cross-functional leadership, and driving a new product platform for air- and water-cooled systems. Experience with hardware, electronics, and project management is essential.
This role is based in New Kensington, PA, and will work a hybrid schedule as needed. (1-3 days/week onsite)
Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise and support to a multi-functional team, including component, mechanical, and electrical requirements. Lead and collaborate on projects with global teams across product management, sales, manufacturing, quality, and procurement. Develop medium-voltage air- and water-cooled drives, power supplies, and other power electronics technologies. Design, analyze, and implement power electronics circuits, magnetic components, and control strategies for large AC drives and power supplies. Monitor and mitigate risks throughout the product lifecycle to ensure quality and performance. Perform technical analysis for type tests to qualify prototype designs for serial production. Collaborate with project management, power electronics, software development, product testing, supply chain management, customer support, and design/drafting teams. Utilize CAD, CAE, FEM, and CFD tools for designing and analyzing mechanical and electronic components. Maintain strong writing, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Your Profile
Education: BS degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience: 5 years of related work experience (advanced degree may substitute for years of experience). Technical Skills: Design, analysis, testing, and commissioning of IGBT-based converters. Engineering experience in customer-facing environments. Familiarity with product cost targets. Proficiency with software tools (Teamcenter, SAP, CAD, FEM, CFD, etc.). Strong understanding of electrical engineering or power electronics concepts, theories, and applications for medium voltage drives. Experience in control theory and power electronics-based converters. Development or commissioning experience with Medium Voltage Drives or cascaded H-bridge topology.Other Skills: Broad knowledge for completing sophisticated assignments. Understanding business practices and issue resolution.
Travel: Up to 10% required.
The pay range for this position is $79,900 – 137,100. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
