Responsibilities The Opportunity R&D Region Assoc Manager is responsible for leading innovation, productivity, brand stewardship and portfolio transformation projects with the multifunctional teams across PMF (PepsiCo Mexico Foods) and CARICAM, aiming to develop and implement key projects according to the strategic plans to ensure the business’s growth for the pellet, pork pellet and corn chip categories, by leading projects through prototyping, lab trials, pilot plant trials, as well as delivering the required documentation and execution of each project. Your Impact As R&D Region Assoc Manager your scope would consist of Innovation & Product Development Drive the development and launch of new products aligned with the AOP innovation agenda. Translate consumer insights and global trends into product solutions for PMF and CARICAM markets. Lead formulation, prototyping, lab/pilot trials, and regional adaptation of global projects. Productivity & Product Transformation Identify and implement opportunities for cost optimization in ingredients, processes, and formulations. Ensure compliance with PepsiCo global standards, local regulations, and nutritional guidelines. Conduct zero-mass balances, analytical/microbiological/shelf-life studies to support value optimization. Brand Stewardship & Portfolio Management Guarantee consistency and quality across product transformations. Provide technical documentation (e.g., TSG, PQP, SAP) and support commercialization processes. Partner with Regulatory teams to deliver accurate nutritional information. Project Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Lead multi-disciplinary teams through Stage Gate process from ideation to launch. Collaborate with R&D technical areas (Packaging, Sensory, QD, Food Safety, etc.) and business stakeholders (Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Operations). Mitigate project risks with clear contingency planning. People Development & Technical Coaching Provide guidance and development support to junior product developers. Oversee performance, identify training needs, and foster technical excellence across teams Qualifications ¿Who Are We Looking For? Education & Background Bachelor's degree in food engineering, Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Process or Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in product development and/or project management. Understanding of raw material functionality and manufacturing processes. Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written). Skills & Competencies Strong project and time management skills, with ability to prioritize effectively. Experience managing cross-functional teams in hybrid and matrixed environments. Solid communication and negotiation skills to influence across functions and levels. Fast learner with a passion for innovation and R&D processes. Strategic and creative thinker with technical and commercial acumen. Proactive, results-driven, and able to maintain focus in complex, fast-paced environments.
