Purpose of the job:
Manage Waltco Brand Product Life Cycle Care Engineering team activities to improve current products, components, equipment, systems, services and processes. Leading a distinct team inside of R&D function.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop own R&D team to deliver projects and ensure that work is conducted within established budgets and costs and according to established scientific and engineering standards and processes. Responsible for technical solutions in the area of own team expertise Lead assigned projects and manage project budgets; evaluate findings; and prepare detailed reports with recommendations and conclusions Analyze and assess the feasibility of hydraulic systems and product/component validation and manage the workflow of the R&D test laboratory Responsible for own team budget, costs, cost-to-design, resources, and planning required to implement annual goals and monitor the performance of research / development / engineering projects to ensure targets are met Challenge team members to continuously improve key skills; keep them challenged, while emphasizing a learning orientation and managing performance effectively Evaluate, source, establish and maintain ongoing relationships with the external scientific and development partner community to stay aware of trends and build the organization's reputation and to continuously develop networks Collaborate with the New Product Development team and support integration of new products/product improvements at the local manufacturing unit

Budget, Return on R&D invested Project delivery Innovations (e.g Filed inventions) NPS (if possible to measure) Compass & Climate indexes
What you'll need to succeed:
Education:
Minimum B.Sc or M.Sc of Engineering from a relevant field (e.g mechanical engineering, electrics, hydraulics, electronics or automation)
Working experience:
5+ years of engineering management experience from a relevant field in R&D Knowledge on mobile load handling equipment and/or heavy automotive is an asset
Skills and competencies:
Deep technical knowledge and skills covering all aspects in the area of expertise/responsibility Analytical abilities combined with problem-solving mindset Leadership skills, forward looking and innovative approach Good communication and interpersonal skills Drives results and proactively seeks opportunities to improve, understanding of business drivers Relevant design tools and systems (e.g 3D/CAD, simulation/programming, ERP) Business collaboration & reporting tools
