Responsibilities The Opportunity The Food Safety Analyst role incorporates ingredient hazard database maintenance, ingredient hazard assessments, plus ingredient supplier documentation collection, which are parallel and dependent processes to the existing specification writing and approval. The expanded responsibility of the role includes the application of food safety technical expertise and co-ordinate with food safety managers in North America and LATAM sector teams to complete ingredient hazard assessments as needed to support R&D change projects, publish records once the specification is finalized, collect supplier documentation to support the food safety sector leads ingredient qualification tasks. This data is critical to underpin accurate and compliant hazard assessments to ensure the food safety of R&D change projects and ultimately the data is incorporated into HACCP and Food Safety Plans at manufacturing plants. Your Impact • Write ingredient hazard assessments for new ingredients compliance to PepsiCo processes (MRT, FS standard responses) and local regulatory requirements in a HACCP/FSMA Food Safety Plan format. • Primarily write data in English and as necessary translate technical language into Spanish/English depending on where the ingredient is used for country of manufacture and country of sale of finished products. • Publish new ingredient records, as specifications are signed off in the spec system and the qualification completed. • Develop a process to review and validate large volumes of ingredient data, identify and clean up anomalies in ingredient records to maintain data quality and accuracy. Supplier documentation co-ordination: • Align documentation requirements with sector Food Safety lead • Gather document evidence from supplier, communicate with supplier as required to ensure clear interpretation of requirements and the precise standard of documents, data and evidence required. • Check quality of documents, evidence, dates match requirements Qualifications Who Are We Looking For? Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Microbiology, or related Understanding of Quality Assurance/ Food Safety concepts and good working knowledge of food microbiology, food allergens, physical and chemical hazards. Fluent in English, Spanish to translate technical language. Collaborative skills and strong interest in working with others across time zones; Ability to build relationships and work closely with both internal and external partners. Good communication skills – oral and written (e.g. communication on telephone, external and internal to PepsiCo, managing with other support group functions, etc.) Ability to manage time effectively across multiple priorities and projects requiring a high degree of organizational and communication skills to ensure requests are delivered in a timely manner.
