R&D Engineering Technician
Job Title: R&D Engineering Technician

Job Description

The role involves working with equipment designed to destroy heart cells conducting energy levels that cause arrhythmia. This is a Class 3 medical device. The technician will be responsible for understanding electrical/electronic schematics to build, evaluate, test, troubleshoot, and repair boards and cabling.

Responsibilities

Beta test software systems to aid the development team in ensuring a quality product is released.Record and track defects in a bug tracking system.Execute manual and automated test cases to ensure the design meets requirements.Document test results and participate in engineering report development.Participate in electrical/electronic prototype development.Work with a cross-functional team to ensure project timelines are met.Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all documented Quality processes and procedures.

Essential Skills

Experience in a regulated industry.Proficiency in using multimeters and oscilloscopes.3-5 years of experience in a similar role with troubleshooting expertise.Technical knowledge of testing concepts for electromechanical equipment.Knowledge of ISO and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.Knowledge of automation tools and processes.Strong English written and spoken skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

DEC in electrical engineering, preferably from recognized institutions like Dawson College.Bilingual skills are an asset.

Work Environment

Currently, there are 2 technicians, with plans to expand the team to 4-5 members. Onsite presence is required 5 days a week to perform tests directly on the product. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
