What You’ll Do
Lead Innovation in Levitation & Drive Technology – Join Our R&D Team in Darmstadt
Mecatronix GmbH, a 35-person subsidiary, develops cutting-edge, non-contact levitation drive systems for high-performance industrial applications. As a key leader in our R&D team, you’ll guide engineers and technicians in developing next-generation controllers, sensors, and power devices—crucial for real-time control in demanding environments.
You’ll also head our advanced electronics lab, where rapid prototyping, testing, and failure analysis drive fast, reliable product development. Our technologies support world-class vacuum systems used in the semiconductor and display industries.

Levitation and Drive Electronic Development: Define and implement the electronic platform roadmap in alignment with product strategy.Shape Project Foundations: Lead requirement definition, evaluate technical solutions, and support implementation planning.Lead Design Excellence: Guide and support design reviews for electronic circuits and electromechanical systems integrated into our tools.Collaborate Across Disciplines: Synchronize development with system, mechanical, and software engineering teams, as well as new product introduction groups.Global Technical Alignment: Coordinate with international teams to ensure consistent and efficient implementation.Ensure Safety & Compliance: Support machinery safety in accordance with SEMI S2, European, and international standards. Organize and oversee EMI, safety, and reliability testing.Verify & Validate: Define, optimize, and document test procedures for functional verification, validation, and manufacturing quality.Enhance Supplier Collaboration: Support our quality organization by evaluating supplier performance.Support Lifecycle Improvements: Drive failure analysis and continuous improvement of electronic hardware and embedded systems throughout the product lifecycle.Document & Communicate: Contribute to product manuals and user guides, including interface descriptions.Embedded Software Support: Assist in programming, maintaining, and optimizing embedded software for safe and reliable operation.Lead & Inspire: Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers and lab technicians.Your education and experience:
A PhD, Master’s degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Technical Computer Science, or a related fieldStrong expertise in electronic printed-circuit-board design, embedded system development, and electronics manufacturingProfound experience with real-time microcontroller-based systems and modern debugging toolsProven skills in debugging and optimizing electronic hardwareExperience with electrical design software like E3S or EPLAN is beneficialFamiliarity with software development lifecycle tools such as Jira and BitbucketA collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in interdisciplinary teamsDemonstrated leadership experience in guiding engineering teamsStrong communication skills in English and GermanExcellent analytical thinking and organizational abilitiesAdditional Information
