Our facility in Singapore has key functions in research and development, procurement, sales and finance for our Lighting and Detection business lines, in addition to key functions related to our Optics Manufacturing capabilities.
This site produces optical lenses such as spherical, aspherical and plano optics, with large machine shop capabilities and expertise in optical coating and assembly. Our photonic products and solutions serve a wide range of markets and applications in the areas of medicine, life science, industrial manufacturing, defense, and aerospace, as well as research and development.
We are presently seeking a R&D Engineer that will develope Cermax NPI and support Cermax production in Batam.
Main responsibilities:
Create and convert documentation. Travel regularly to Batam and work directly on the production line to implement lighting NPIs and support ongoing manufacturing activities. Drive the development and design of plasma lighting products (e.g., Cermax, photonics flash) in collaboration with the Pleasanton team, while coordinating with the Batam Manufacturing team to ensure successful mass production. Provide technical leadership to manage product and process timelines, ensuring critical paths are met to achieve objectives and targets. Determine and develop manufacturing processes by analyzing requirements, researching solutions, and designing/adapting methods and equipment. Conduct developmental research and competitor analysis to support future technical roadmaps, conceptual designs, and research initiatives. Lead and manage customer sample requests. Collaborate with the Batam team to ensure product and process quality (e.g., yield) by designing reliable methods, process capabilities, and standardized documentation (WI, FMEA, PCP). Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Six Sigma and Lean activities. Ensure effective communication and information flow with Pleasanton management.Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline (or equivalent). 4–5 years of relevant experience in a related industry or role preferred. Knowledge of hermetic sealing, high-temperature processes, optics and light measurement, thermal modeling, and controlled atmosphere brazing is preferred.Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer
