Overview As an R&D Sr. Technician on the Analytical Sciences Flavor QC team, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge by collaborating with PepsiCo’s manufacturing plants and flavor suppliers to support the manufacture of PepsiCo beverages worldwide. You will also work closely on business-critical innovation projects with the R&D Beverage Flavor and Product Development teams. The R&D Sr. Technician will support these teams by thoroughly conducting laboratory analytical and sensory methods and/or instrumental test procedures and reporting timely results and maintaining accurate records and documentation. The R&D Sr. Technician will also work closely with Core Analytical team as needed for special projects. Successful candidates thrive in an environment of fast-paced, consumer-driven product and process development with extreme attention to detail. Responsibilities Sample Management Organize daily flavor samples and pair with control samples Log in daily samples Prioritize RUSH samples Archive samples Organize sensory evaluations and ensure timely completion with panelists GC sample preparation Ensure organized, safe laboratory Lab inventory Support core analytical projects as needed Compensation and Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $59,000 - $88,500. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Qualifications B.S. in Chemistry or related field with 1- 3 years experience in a consumer products industry. Flavor or Food/Beverage analytical experience a plus. Experience with GC-FID and GC-MSD Experience working effectively as a member and contributor on cross functional teams. Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver against multiple assignments. Basic computer skills and functional knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States. Critical Competencies Working knowledge of a broad range of analytical instruments, with a strong focus on advanced instrumentation (e.g. GC-MSD, GC-FID) Ability to execute analytical processes with appropriate GLP. Ability to analyze and interpret data, and clearly document and communicate the results. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), manage client expectations of timing and deliverables.
