General Summary:

Responsible for Qualcomm Chipset performance optimization. Design, develop, and implement Linux/Android performance framework, driver, and optimization solution based on Qualcomm Chipsets. Includes but not limited to:

Analyze, debug and resolve performance issues on Linux/Android devices like boot time, benchmark, memory, I/O, camera/video fps, launch latency etc.Direct triage of complex performance issues to determine root-cause and present results to internal and external stakeholders.Lead and conduct performance and systems studies.Provide technical leadership, mentor and guide engineers to successfully execute multiple programs.Develop system performance optimization features on Linux/Android platform.Configure and tune system parameters for common scenarios to ensure good user experience and achieve a balance of performance and power.Provide key support for OEMs for features and issues.Work closely with other technical teams and provide support from performance perspective. For example, collaborating with multiple teams on power, camera, display, video etc.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years’ experience on system performance issue analysis and performance optimization, has solid knowledge of system performance.Deep understanding of Linux scheduler and DCVS.Deep understanding on Linux memory management.Strong programming skills, such as C/C++, Java, and Python etc.Strong experience on performance analyzing tools like Perfetto, Perf, eBPF etc.Strong knowledge of ARM SoC/CPU architecture.Ability to schedule, organize and coordinate projects in high efficiency with teamwork.Excellent problem solving & analysis skills, communication skills and strong enthusiasm to learn.

Skills /Experience are plus:

Good understanding on File system and I/O scheduler.Good expertise in Linux/Android framework or driver development.Good understanding of AI optimization, neon/SIMD programming.Good understanding of Android IPC mechanisms, like binder/AIDL/socket etc. Good English oral and written skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 10+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
