You will collaborate with account teams and stakeholders across multiple countries through both direct and matrixed management of local resources, driving accuracy, efficiency, and excellence in every customer interaction.\n\nSummarized Purpose: \n\nWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quoting Manager to lead our proposal and quoting operations within the Proposals team. In this role, you will oversee a team of Proposal/Quote Specialists responsible for developing accurate, timely, and competitive quotes and proposals that align with customer needs and Thermo Fisher’s strategic objectives.\n\nYou will serve as the local site lead for the quoting function, ensuring operational excellence, staff development, and effective collaboration across multiple business units. This position plays a critical role in advancing our automation strategy and driving continuous improvement across the proposal process.\n\n \n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLeadership & People Management\n\nLead and develop a team of Proposal/Quote Specialists, providing coaching, mentoring, and career development aligned with Thermo Fisher’s talent strategy.\n\nDirectly supervises team leaders, individual contributors, and / or administrative support.\n\nFoster effective collaboration between quoting teams and SMEs to drive consistency and quality across complex proposals.\n\nManage staffing, performance reviews, goal setting, and workload balancing to ensure optimal team productivity and employee engagement.\n\nOperational Excellence\n\nOversee daily operations of the proposal and quoting process across multiple business units, ensuring consistent quality, accuracy, and timeliness.\n\nProvide strategic oversight of the quoting process to ensure technical accuracy, operational feasibility, and alignment with business objectives.\n\nMaintain accountability for complex and high-value quotes, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and customer requirements.\n\nMonitor key performance indicators (e.g., turnaround times, win rates, quote accuracy) and implement corrective actions where necessary.\n\nPartner with sales, operations, and finance leadership to align pricing strategies with business objectives and market competitiveness.\n\nProcess Improvement & Technology Enablement\n\nDrive standardization and automation initiatives across quoting workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.\n\nPartner with IT and Commercial Operations to optimize use of quoting (e.g., CPQ) and CRM (e.g., Salesforce) systems, integrating data analytics to support decision-making.\n\nIdentify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to elevate the customer experience and streamline internal processes.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to quoting processes, systems, Word and Excel, ensuring smooth operations, and minimizing disruptions.\n\nStakeholder Collaboration\n\nAct as a key liaison between Commercial Finance, Sales, Operations, and Business Development to ensure smooth proposal development and execution.\n\nRepresent the quoting function in cross-functional projects, regional leadership meetings, and global process harmonization initiatives.\n\nServe as the local site leader, maintaining visibility of team activities and representing Quoting services within the broader site leadership community.\n\nRequirements:\n\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Business is required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.\n\nExperience: 5–8 years of experience in commercial finance, pricing, proposal management, or related fields.\n\n3-4 years of leadership responsibility.\n\nProficiency in English (verbal and written).\n\nTechnical Skills:\n\nStrong command of financial modeling, pricing analysis, and commercial metrics.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, macros, data analysis).\n\nExperience with CRM (Salesforce) and CPQ Platforms. \n\nKey Competencies:\n\nProven leadership and team development abilities.\n\nExcellent analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.\n\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to collaborate across matrixed, global teams.\n\nDemonstrated success in managing process transitions or technology implementations. \n\nGood knowledge and understanding of contractual documents.\n\nStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse group of colleagues in various locations.
