Job Title: Quotes/Estimator Location: Wayne, NJ Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $60k Contractor Work Model: Onsite Job Summary A growing company in the commercial equipment space is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to support project quoting and cost analysis. This role focuses on estimating for specialized equipment layouts and system installations across a variety of commercial environments. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing technical documents, preparing cost estimates, and coordinating with internal teams to support successful bidding and project execution. Key Responsibilities + Develop accurate cost estimates and formal quotes for custom equipment and system installation projects. + Review architectural and technical drawings to assess project scope and requirements. + Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to gather pricing and identify cost-effective options. + Maintain internal pricing databases and vendor contact lists. + Analyze bid packages and requests for proposals to ensure alignment with project needs. + Track active quotes and assist with revisions based on updated specifications or client feedback. + Contribute to scope adjustments and value engineering efforts as needed. Qualifications + 2–3 years of estimating experience in construction-related or equipment/system installation industries. + Familiarity with specialized layouts or system-based project requirements (e.g., utilities, infrastructure, technical installations). + Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other estimating or ERP platforms. + Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. + Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills + Experience using industry-standard estimating tools such as AutoQuotes, AutoCAD or Revit. + Understanding of mechanical, plumbing, or utility systems related to specialty equipment. + Knowledge of regulatory standards and safety guidelines relevant to commercial installations.
