Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to support cost estimation, quantity measurement, billing, and contract administration for Water Supply, Wastewater, and Water Infrastructure Projects, including pipelines, WTP/STP, reservoirs, pumping stations, and distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quantity Measurement & Verification
Measure quantities for excavation, pipeline laying, concrete, structural works, and MEP installations.
Verify contractor-submitted quantities and maintain accurate measurement sheets.
Conduct on-site verification of work done and prepare monthly quantity reports.
2. BOQ & Cost Estimation
Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on drawings, specifications, and design documents.
Conduct material take-offs (MTO) and rate analysis.
Contribute to tender cost preparation and bid proposals.
3. Billing & Payment
Prepare interim payment certificates (IPC) and client billing documentation.
Check and certify contractor and subcontractor bills.
Track material consumption vs. approved quantities.
4. Contract & Commercial Management
Review contract documents and ensure compliance with technical and commercial terms.
Identify variations, additional items, and deviations from scope.
Assist in the preparation of variation orders and claims.
5. Cost Monitoring & Control
Track project financial progress and forecast final project costs.
Monitor budget utilization and highlight potential cost overruns.
Support procurement teams with quantity-related inputs.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate logs for quantity measurement, billing, and cost reports.
Prepare weekly and monthly commercial progress reports.
Coordinate with engineering, planning, and site teams for timely documentation.
Qualifications
B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
3–12 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the water sector, including:
Water treatment plants (WTP)
Sewage treatment plants (STP)
Pumping stations
Pipelines (DI, HDPE, MS, GRP, PVC)
Reservoirs/Overhead tank
Additional InformationExperience in government or IFI-funded water projects.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Good negotiation and coordination skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in measurement.
