Join Mitie, a leader in facilities management and infrastructure support, and play a vital role in UK Defence operations. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in The Falkland Islands delivering essential services in support of UK Armed Forces operations. 

Why This Role Matters  

You'll be part of a mission-critical team maintaining and developing Defence infrastructure and your skills will directly support UK Defence operations in a high-profile, operational setting. 

The Role 

Lead commercial delivery of M&E infrastructure projects.  Produce budget estimates using historic data, supply chain input, and schedule of rates.  Manage tender documentation and processes via e-Tendering platforms.  Evaluate tender returns and prepare client reports.  Monitor project progress, identify scope changes, and maximise revenue.  Assess milestone payments and manage cashflow.  Advise on contracts and maintain accurate records.  Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.  Attend site visits and stakeholder meetings. 

 

What You'll Bring 

Essential: 

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.  5+ years' experience in M&E commercial roles.  Strong technical understanding of M&E systems (e.g. HVAC, electrical, comms, fire protection).  Familiarity with NEC contracts and procurement strategies.  Experience in estimating, tendering, and contract management.  CSCS card and full clean UK (or equivalent) driving licence.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Project).  Excellent communication, methodical, and organisational skills.  Able to obtain BPSS clearance, medical clearance, and Falklands work permit. 

Desirable: 

Experience with schedule of rates (PSA, NSR), CAFM systems (Maximo), and varied asset types.  Knowledge of MOD JSP standards and public procurement rules.  Understanding of overseas logistics and shipping constraints.  Membership of RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body.
