We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source a Quantity Surveyor. This is a long-term contract role. Please see details below.
Title: Quantity Surveyor
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Location: Qatar Onshore
Working Schedule: 5 days per week / 10 hours per day
--Experience Required—
Key Job Accountabilities
• Demonstrate personal SHES leadership and excellent SHES behaviors at all times and actively participate in Toolbox Talks, Task Instructions and site safety walkthroughs during construction phase.
• Ensure that Contractors/Subcontractors are conducting engineering design in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and safe practices.
• Prepare quantity estimates, take offs, cost plans, and support bidding/tender stages.
• Monitor contractor progress and valuations, processing interim payments and variations.
• Evaluate variation orders, cost claims, and change management.
• Maintain contract registers, cost forecasts, risk registers.
Participate in cost control meetings and support procurement with pricing and commercial evaluations.
• Ensure RLIC and Port authority involvement and endorsement of all the activity related to the
• Port dredging and Berth areas development.
--Minimum Requirements--
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering, or Engineering.
Knowledge and Key Skills
• 6 years experience in Engineering roles, including 2 years in the Oil & Gas Industry and in cost control, contract/quantity surveying roles in oil & gas or EPC industry.
• Experience preparing valuations, claims, and reconciliation on large projects.
• Familiarity with standard contracts (FIDIC, NEC, EPC, reimbursable/cost-plus), and cost tracking tools.
• Strong analytical, Excel, and communication skills to interface with engineering, procurement, and contractors
• Familiar Dredging and earth movement works
