You will lead a high-performance team of Quality Technicians/Inspectors who perform dimensional inspections and quality verification on Pratt & Whitney aero-engine components. The role demands expert knowledge of advanced metrology and 3D scanning systems, impeccable attention to detail, and strong people-leadership skills to keep operations safe, efficient, and fully compliant with aerospace quality standards
Key Responsibilities:
Direct daily work for 6-10 Quality Technicians; run stand-ups, set priorities, and remove roadblocks.Coach, mentor, and cross-train the team to maximize throughput and technical proficiency.Act as the primary interface between technicians, Project Management, and PW customer reps.Enforce SOPs, EHS rules, and regulatory/contract requirements (AS 9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, etc.).Plan, perform, and/or review dimensional and surface-profile inspections using advanced 3D scanners and CMMs (see “Must-Have Tools” below).Drive first-article, in-process, and final inspectionsLead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for any non-conformance.Track parts flow and tooling availability; coordinate priorities with planning and logisticsWork Experience
Required Skills and Experience
Metrology & 3D Scanning (must-have): Keyence High-Accuracy 3D Scanner CMM, XM-5000, VL Series, VR Series, Blue-Light 4D; general blue-light 3D scanners; ZEISS ScanBox; Hexagon Fusion 600.Aerospace Quality: 3+ yrs dimensional inspection/GD&T under AS 9100 or ISO 9001.Leadership: 1+ yr leading or mentoring technicians in a regulated environment.Technical Toolkit: Calipers, micrometers, height/depth/height gauges, pin gauges, CMM/DCC software (PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, etc.), SAP or similar ERP/QMS, MS Office.Soft Skills: Clear communication, data-driven problem-solving, adaptable to shifting priorities.Other: U.S. citizenship (ITAR), able to lift 35 lbs and stand for long periods; willing to work overtime or split shifts.
