The Opportunity

The position works out of our Barceloneta location in the Abbott Vascular Plant in Barceloneta Plant. This position is in a second shift.

As Quality Technician IV you will be responsible to provides independent evaluation of materials, components, and products, and work process within the quality system

Provides technical assistance to support efforts ensuring the quality of the product.  Assists engineers in validation,

testing and troubleshooting process to improve the processes and the products, additionally assists supervisor with

daily tasks. No direct line reporting or people management responsibilities are involved.

 

What You'll Do

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and proceduresReview material, equipment, and systems quality through examination, inspection, measurement, or testing of raw materials, components, sub assembly, final assembly, packaging, labeling and documentationAudits and verifies processes such as line verification or environmental conformity to prevent quality system and manufacturing impactReviews and verifies compliance of documentation such as batch records, reports of nonconforming materials, inspection records.Reviews and verifies compliance of manufacturing documentation such as batch records, reports of nonconforming materials, inspection recordsExecutes Quality Testing of samples as part of its daily activities with no / little guidance from Quality Supervisor or Quality EngineerIdentifies and segregates nonconforming material from the production line according to governing documents. Coordinates with the Quality Engineer to prepare and handle the material in and out of the designated quarantine areaProposes and executes product/material acceptance testing, sampling, inspection, classification or disposal based on engineering dispositions. Ensures that all evidence documentation complies with governing proceduresPerforms root cause analysis and provides preventive and corrective actions to assigned Field Discrepancy Notification (FDN) issues and to any other assigned quality figure as requested by Quality Supervisor (CatsWeb use).Assists engineering in providing manufacturing support by reviewing and analyzing data to determine manufacturing issues and trends (Infinity QS or other Systems as a source).Resolves and prevents Manufacturing issues by assisting engineering in determining root cause and implementing corrective and preventative action (CatsWeb use).Develops and implements process improvements by assisting Engineering in researching and validating changes in processes/equipment and test methods to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time per established proceduresProvides input to engineering, qualification, and validation studies and reports by collecting, compiling, measuring, organizing and recording data, and by writing procedures. May keep lab notebookAssists to sets up and train new or transferred Quality Engineering TechniciansContributes to generate work schedules when required by Quality SupervisorAssists supervisor with delegation daily activities to other associates

Required Qualifications

Associates Degree (± 13 years) or two-year degree or at least 40% university credits completed an equivalent combination of education and work experienceMinimum 6 years of experience as a Quality Technician or areas related to quality control or equivalent combination of education and technical work experience.Applies superior knowledge of highly complex technical concepts and/or develops highly advanced technologies or processes. Thorough understanding of product or systems fundamentals in crosses functional areas. Recommends/utilizes/interprets advanced numerical and statistical data and/or computer software programs to present documentation and analysis and resolve complex problems. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.Performs and guides technical activities resulting from self-initiated or assigned programs leading to innovative applications of existing or new products, systems, or technologies having major importance to the department and organization. Creates the technical basis, including Records of Invention, patents, product definitions, developments and processes for proprietary positions having potential benefits for the business.Microsoft Office - Handles MS Word, Power Point and Excel at a basic to intermediate level.Math Knowledge - Advance Math Calculations

The base pay for this position is $14.67 – $29.33 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
