This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. About the role This position is responsible for monitoring, measuring, and improving products and associated processes. In addition, this position manages the gage calibration system. Responsibilities Manages the gage calibration system Performs inspection of product at various phases (Design Verification, First Article, Receiving Inspection and Outgoing Inspection) to established specifications which may include cosmetic, dimensional, functional, and agency requirements Interprets blueprints, drawings, specifications, and procedures to perform inspection, testing, or other job functions Selects and uses appropriate measurement equipment (handheld gages, vision system, spectrophotometer) and evaluates measurement results to determine conformance to specifications Determines sample size, selection method and accept/reject criteria Identifies and documents non-conforming product and coordinates the segregation of non-conforming product to the appropriate location. Recommends dispositions on non-conforming product to the material review board (MRB) or other authority Selects, applies, and interprets basic quality tools and techniques such as Pareto charts, histograms, check sheets, flowcharts, SPC charts, etc. Utilizes basic descriptive and inferential statistics for basic analysis and presentation Understands and applies corrective action processes, including failure analysis, 8Ds, 5 Whys, etc. to determine root cause and corrective action Performs product and process audits as assigned Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Skills- Technical Ability to read blueprints and apply statistical techniques Demonstrate the use of handheld gages, vision system, and spectrophotometer Ability to perform documented root cause analysis and problem solving Skills- Behavioral Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders Ensure accuracy in work produced, documentation, and processes to maintain high standards Keep work area clean and organized to handle multiple tasks and deadlines Physical Demands Eye protection may have to be worn Lifting of weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 45 pounds on an occasional basis. The occasional physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
