About the role
As a Quality Technician, you will play an important role in supporting production teams by ensuring products, materials, and processes meet PMI’s rigorous quality standards. You will work closely with manufacturing teams to identify and resolve quality issues, conduct testing and analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational performance and product quality. This role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to translate quality data into actionable insights that support production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Production quality support
Provide quality guidance and support to production teams when quality issues arise.Investigate non-conformities and deviations in a timely manner and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Support the evaluation and disposition of non-conforming materials or products, including release or destruction decisions in collaboration with stakeholders.
Testing, analysis and reporting
Plan and perform sampling, testing, and analysis on tobacco, materials, semi-finished, and finished products in line with established procedures and analytical methods.Ensure test results are accurately recorded and reported within the relevant systems.Support analysis of materials or products approaching expiry to determine potential shelf-life extensions where applicable.
Quality systems and documentation
Ensure production documentation is maintained in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS).Support the creation and review of quality procedures, work instructions, and related documentation.Maintain sample retention processes, including storage and controlled destruction of samples.
Continuous improvement
Identify and propose quality improvement opportunities within production and operational processes.Participate in quality-related improvement initiatives and projects.Contribute to root cause investigations using appropriate analytical and statistical tools.
Training and knowledge sharing
Train operational staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.Support the implementation of quality standards and ensure teams remain up to date with PMI quality requirements.
Compliance and safety
Promote and apply PMI standards related to quality, environment, health and safety (EHSS).Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards while actively identifying and reporting potential risks.

Who We’re Looking For:
National Diploma in Quality Management /Food Technology/Biotechnolog/ Chemical Engineering/ Industrial Engineering or a related field.Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production, manufacturing, or quality environment.Knowledge of international quality standards (ISO).Experience using quality tools and root cause analysis methodologies.Strong analytical capability with exposure to statistical or data analysis tools.Ability to interpret production data and translate it into meaningful insights and reports.
