Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description

As a Quality Technician, you will perform inspections, measurements, and tests on incoming materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure quality requirements are met. You will ensure that processes are operating in control throughout the manufacturing operation. Your role will involve reading, analyzing, and using drawings, blueprints, sample data, and other materials to determine conformance to requirements of processes, materials, and products. You will also set up and use various types of inspection and measurement equipment to validate product and process conformance to requirements and specifications.

ResponsibilitiesCollect samples for testing, inspection, and measurement.Affix stamps, tags, and labels to appropriate containers or pallets to identify product inspection or acceptability status as necessary.Perform final product release activities as necessary.Route nonconforming materials to containment area or to sorting/inspection.Record inspection, measurement, and test data on designated forms, documents, or computer information systems.Assist in developing and implementing various inspection and test processes for determining the acceptability of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products.Participate in various cross-functional teams as the quality representative.Investigate complaints of nonconformance.Work with management, supervisors, operators, and other technical staff in performing root cause analysis and in determining and implementing corrective and preventative actions to preclude recurrence.Perform verification activities of implemented actions.Essential Skills2-5 years of quality inspection experience.Proficiency in quality checks on the floor and in the lab, with openness to walking the floor often.Ability to read measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.Capability to hold parts (up to 10 pounds) for measurement.Documentation skills for input into computer systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsCMM programming is a plus.Experience with optical comparators and contour tracers is advantageous.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position is for the 2nd shift, running from 2pm to 10:20pm, Monday through Friday. Work in a precision automotive supplier facility manufacturing transmission and engine components, with a high-volume forging and machining plant. The facility is small, modern, and employs fewer than 200 people. It operates on a 3-shift, 5-day schedule with opportunities for overtime and shift premiums. The environment promotes familiarity among employees and provides a relaxed atmosphere with the flexibility to use cell phones and designated smoking areas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $41600.00/yr.
