**Job Title: Layout Technician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated and curious individual for the role of 2nd Shift Quality Inspector/CMM Operator. The position begins with hands-on training on the 1st shift under the guidance of experienced supervisors and leads, lasting approximately 3-6 months. This role is ideal for those passionate about quality inspection and eager to grow in a manufacturing environment. Post-training, you will support precision dimensional measurement and layout activities related to new products, PPAP packages, prototypes, and engineering changes.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assist in performing precision measurements and layouts under supervision.
+ Learn to operate and program advanced measurement systems (CMM, Smart Scope, Keyence, 3D Scanner).
+ Support statistical testing and capability studies.
+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and assist with quality department files.
+ Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve issues.
**Essential Skills**
+ Basic CMM Programming, able to set up, adjust, edit, and run simple programs on a Coordinate Measuring Machine using various software.
+ Understanding of GD&T, capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
+ Hands-on quality inspection experience with tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
+ Familiarity with ISO standards and TS16949.
+ Experience in plastics manufacturing.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Nice to have CMM Programming experience.
+ Prior quality experience in plastics manufacturing.
+ Prior quality layout experience.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is clean, organized, and modern, featuring a heavily automated plant. The facility is climate controlled, ensuring comfort and efficiency. Quality work is conducted in a cleanroom environment, with a recent expansion adding 30,000 sq ft to the facility. The company operates three shifts (7 am - 3 pm, 3 pm - 11 pm, and 11 pm - 7 am), five days a week, with flexibility in shift start times. Smoking or vaping is prohibited in the building or on the property. Eating and drinking are restricted to designated areas, and only clear water bottles are allowed on the floor. Personal grooming standards include only natural nails.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ROCHESTER HILLS, MI.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
