**Job Title: Quality Technician**
**Job Description**
The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing duties on the production floor to conduct in-process inspections of batches made in production and activities related to the production process and technical lab. Additionally, they are responsible for any other tasks deemed necessary by the Technical Lab Manager.
**Responsibilities**
+ Maintain a clean and organized lab.
+ Print batch tickets and drum tags for production.
+ Ensure all batch tickets have been completely filled out.
+ Enter batch information into Word and Excel files.
+ Scan batch tickets and maintain electronic database.
+ Issue corrections for materials not meeting viscosity specifications.
+ Perform all required testing for production batches as specified on the batch ticket.
+ Write hold tickets for nonconforming batches and materials.
+ Perform 3 and 30-day retain viscosity checks.
+ Perform final inspection of finished goods as needed.
+ Report updates to the next shift’s Lab Technician.
+ Operate forklift at times, with training provided.
+ Inspect incoming raw materials, if needed.
+ Perform Dock Audits on the production floor.
+ Split duties between lab and production: 60% lab and 40% production.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, and email.
+ Attention to detail, dependability, and good interpersonal skills.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
+ Minimum of 2 years of quality experience.
+ Experience in mixing, batching, compounding, chemical handling, machine operation, and quality control.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Quality experience is preferred, but not required.
+ Mobile equipment experience is preferred, but not required.
+ Proficiency in SPC & SAP is preferred, but not required.
+ Good knowledge of chemistry and math.
+ Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
+ High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a chemical plant with 98% automotive material production, featuring a climate-controlled setting. It requires exposure to manufacturing operations such as moving equipment, noise, fumes, vibrations, and dust. Shifts include 1st shift from 5:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, and 2nd shift from 3:30pm to 2:00am, Monday to Friday. Weekend work may be scheduled based on needs or voluntarily, and mandatory weekends may be required. The schedule may involve a 4 day/10 hour shift transitioning to a 5 day/8 hour shift. Appropriate attire includes steel-toed shoes and provided safety PPE such as safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and earbuds.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Evansville, IN.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
