Job Title: Quality Lab Technician
Job Description

The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for conducting in-process inspections of production batches and participating in various activities related to the production process and technical lab operations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage both lab and production duties effectively.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain a clean and organized lab.Print batch tickets and drum tags for production.Ensure complete and accurate completion of batch tickets.Enter batch information into Word and Excel files.Scan batch tickets and maintain an electronic database.Issue corrections for materials not meeting viscosity specifications.Perform all required testing for production batches as specified on the batch ticket.Write hold tickets for nonconforming batches and materials.Conduct 3 and 30-day retain viscosity checks.Perform final inspection of finished goods as needed.Report updates to the next shift’s Lab Technician.Operate a forklift as required (training provided).Inspect incoming raw materials when necessary.Perform dock audits on the production floor.Split duties between lab (60%) and production (40%).Essential SkillsProficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and email.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Minimum of 2 years quality experience preferred.Ability to operate a forklift (training provided).Additional Skills & QualificationsQuality experience is preferred but not required.Mobile equipment experience preferred but not required.Proficiency in SPC and SAP is advantageous.Good knowledge of chemistry and mathematics.Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.High School diploma or GED required.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The position is based in a chemical plant, primarily producing automotive materials with a climate-controlled environment. Employees are exposed to manufacturing operations, including moving equipment, noise, fumes, vibrations, and dust. Safety PPE such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and earbuds are provided. Work shifts include 1st and 2nd shifts with the possibility of overtime and weekend work based on business needs. The current shift schedule is a 4-day/10-hour setup, subject to change.

This is a Contract position based out of Evansville, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
