Job Description
The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting daily quality checks, setting up and executing product tests for attributes such as salt, pH, and texture. This role involves handling samples from raw materials to finished goods, ensuring laboratory equipment is calibrated and maintained, and updating procedures and training materials. The technician will train plant staff on food safety basics, determine product compliance with standards, enter data, manage product specifications, organize records, inspect equipment, collect microbiological samples, review Certificates of Analysis, and ensure all products are safe, legal, and meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities
Run daily quality checks and assist in setting them up.Test products for salt, pH, and texture.Handle and process samples from raw materials to finished goods.Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.Update procedures and training materials.Train plant staff on the basics of food safety.Evaluate if products meet standards or require holding back.Enter data and manage product specifications.Organize and maintain records.Inspect equipment prior to production.Collect microbiological samples during production.Understand and implement food safety programs such as HACCP.Review Certificates of Analysis and approve raw materials.Ensure all products are safe, legal, and meet customer expectations.Essential Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Experience in food quality.Sensory usage including taste, smell, and visual inspection.Expertise in inspection, quality control, and quality assurance.Knowledge of HACCP, FDA, USDA regulations.Ability to perform quality checks and control.Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma required; a 4-year college degree is desirable.Previous FSQS experience is advantageous.Experience in food manufacturing, especially in USDA regulated establishments, is a plus.Experience with GFSI, specifically BRC, is beneficial.Ability to operate computers and interact with software applications.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a GMP environment that prohibits jewelry, fake eyelashes, and piercings. The facility can be cold in certain areas, but jackets are provided. The floor is wet, yet the environment is well-lit and comfortable. Initial training occurs on the first shift for three months, followed by a transition to the third shift from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
