Job Description
As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for testing finished products to ensure they meet the required standards for acid, salt, pH, and sulfites. Your duties will include performing metal detection, checking fill weights, drained weights, identifying defects, and detecting abnormal colors or flavors. You will ensure accurate coding on packaging and cases, conduct audits, and resolve any issues related to product quality. Adherence to Quality Assurance/Control paperwork is essential, as well as compliance with GMPs, safety and quality standards, food safety measures, OSHA, and other safety protocols.
ResponsibilitiesTest finished products for acid, salt, pH, and sulfites.Perform metal detection and evaluate fill weights, drained weights, and detect defects.Identify abnormal colors or flavors in products.Ensure correct coding on packaging and cases.Conduct audits and resolve product quality issues.Complete Quality Assurance/Control paperwork.Comply with GMPs, safety and quality standards, and food safety measures.Essential SkillsDegree in Sciences (Biology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Food Science, Biochemistry, etc.) or equivalent experience.Strong attention to detail.Ability to uphold quality standards and hold manufacturing accountable.1+ years of experience in Quality.1+ year of GMP and FDA/USDA experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious Food Manufacturing or HACCP/Food Safety Experience is a plus.Work Environment
This role is based in a food manufacturing facility known for producing sauerkraut, where the smell can be intense at times. While the position is primarily lab-based, it requires sample collection on the production floor. Training will occur on the Day Shift for 2-4 weeks. Shift openings are available, with a pay rate dependent on experience, plus a shift premium for 2nd or 3rd shifts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
