Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree and 0-3+ years of experience working in a regulated industry such as medical, aerospace, or automotive. This role involves reviewing product non-conformances and completing quality documentation related to part defects and inspection plans. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of technical drawings, dimensions, and required specifications, and the ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.
Responsibilities
Review product non-conformances and complete quality documentation for part defects and inspection plans.Understand and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and required specifications.Use inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, and gages.Communicate with operators on the production floor regarding non-conforming materials.Assist with supplier change request forms, quality documentation, and processes such as FMEA and PPAP.Utilize Excel for data collection and analysis.Spend 50% of the time in the office handling quality documentation, reporting, and data analysis.Spend 50% of the time on the floor reviewing product non-conformances, conducting defect analysis, and troubleshooting processes.Maintain excellent communication and attention to detail.Essential Skills
Experience in a regulated industry (medical, aerospace, automotive).Understanding of technical drawings and specifications.Proficiency with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.Strong communication skills and attention to detail.Work Environment
The work environment is an Electro-Mechanical Assembly setting, where you will split your time evenly between office work and floor activities. The role involves working closely with the operations team on either the 1st shift (7am – 3:30pm) or the 2nd shift (2pm – 10:30pm). The position is located in Buffalo Grove, IL, and offers a contract-to-hire opportunity. You will be part of a company that specializes in building products and electro-mechanical systems for other companies. This position requires a professional demeanor in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
