Quality Systems Specialist
Job Title: Quality SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and quality systems. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and manages both internal and external audits. The successful candidate will oversee quality control processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and process improvements.

ResponsibilitiesLead the design, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and quality systems such as HACCP, GMP, SQF, and GFSI.Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other applicable regulatory bodies.Manage internal and external audits, including customer and third-party inspections.Oversee quality control processes for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.Investigate consumer complaints and non-conformances; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.Develop and monitor KPIs related to food safety and quality performance.Train and mentor QA staff and production teams on quality standards and procedures.Maintain documentation systems and ensure traceability and record-keeping compliance.Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain to support new product introductions and process improvements.
Essential SkillsExperience with quality systems and food safety.Proficiency in quality management systems.Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, and GFSI.Document control experience.Familiarity with GMP and FSMA regulations.Ability to perform allergen testing and implement food defense strategies.
Additional Skills & QualificationsCompleted Chemical Safety Training within the past 12 months.Attended GMP, FSMA, Food Defense Awareness, and Allergen Training.Compliance with SQF Program requirements.PCQI training and intentional adulteration training.Adherence to all GMP Requirements and Safety Rules and Policies.
Work Environment

The Quality Specialist will work in a dynamic environment that requires strict adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines. The role involves collaboration with various departments, including R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain, to ensure product quality and safety. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn as defined by plant procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
