Quality Supervisor
Job Title: Quality Supervisor Job Description The Site Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all technical and quality requirements during the erection and commissioning phases of the project. This role establishes and maintains the project-specific Quality Management System (QMS), coordinates quality assurance activities, and acts as the primary quality representative on-site, ensuring alignment with client expectations and contractual obligations. Responsibilities + Establish and implement the Project Quality Plan in alignment with client and internal requirements. + Develop and execute a verification plan to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle. + Train project team members and contractors on quality tools and procedures. + Act as the main quality representative on-site, promoting STOP Work and Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) strategies. + Report and escalate quality issues to the project team. + Participate in post-handover activities and develop mitigation plans. + Review contract QA requirements and supplier quality documentation. + Customize and implement project-specific procedures and Inspection & Testing Plans (ITPs). + Analyze lessons learned from previous projects and propose improvements. + Initiate criticality assessments and establish audit plans. + Prepare the site quality book in accordance with contract and client requirements. + Ensure implementation of the Project Quality Plan through audits and verifications. + Oversee document control, measurement devices, welding, painting, material traceability, and quality records. + Coordinate inspections and ensure proper qualification of personnel for special processes. + Manage non-conformities (NCMs), root cause analyses (RCAs), and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs). + Maintain registers for inspections, testing instruments, and welder qualifications. + Supervise on-site inspectors and inspection firms. + Ensure subcontractors use calibrated instruments. + Own quality gate reviews for construction and commissioning phases. + Provide periodic QA performance statistics and reports. + Ensure proper documentation of STOP Work and FME events. + Manage customer complaints and ensure timely resolution. + Coordinate QA/QC activities and review project health KPIs. + Drive closure of open items including punch lists and NCMs. + Capture and document end-of-project lessons learned. + Ensure closure of all project dossiers and coordinate handover milestones. + Oversee the red mark to as-built documentation process. Essential Skills + Minimum of 5 years of prior quality supervision experience in an industrial construction setting. + Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience. + Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings. + Knowledge of construction and installation quality systems, including policies and procedures. + Strong knowledge of ISO standards, QA/QC procedures, and inspection techniques. + Experience with client-facing roles and managing subcontractors. + Proficiency in quality management tools and systems. + Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field. + ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification. + ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification. + NDT Level II/III certification as applicable. + Welding Inspector Certification such as AWS CWI. Work Environment The work environment consists of a 50/50 split between site and office-trailer work, located approximately one hour from Tacoma. The position requires working six days a week, ten-hour days. A local candidate is strongly preferred as there is no rotation or FIFO arrangement. Standard background checks and drug tests are generally required before sending staff to the sites. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
