Job Description: Quality Assurance Specialist **Position Summary** We are seeking a highly skilled **Quality Assurance Specialist** to establish and maintain critical quality functions within our organization. This role will lead the Receiving Inspection area, oversee First Article Inspections (FAIs) to AS9102 standards, administer the calibration program, and support inspection activities across production. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, hands-on inspection skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure compliance, product conformity, and continuous improvement. **Key Responsibilities** + Develop, standardize, and maintain Receiving Inspection processes, including workflows, equipment, and documentation. + Perform and approve AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIs) in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. + Create and execute inspection plans for receiving, in-process, and final inspections. + Conduct inspections on mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical assemblies to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, IPC, and AS standards. + Manage and maintain the Calibration Program, ensuring measurement and test equipment is calibrated, traceable, and compliant with AS9100 requirements. + Support Flight Quality Inspection activities to ensure UAV systems meet acceptance criteria. + Collaborate with engineering and operations to resolve non-conformances and support MRB activities. + Read and interpret engineering drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5. + Apply IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 standards during inspections and reviews. + Conduct process audits to ensure adherence to AS9100 and internal procedures. + Utilize RCCA methodologies (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D) to drive problem-solving and continuous improvement. + Provide feedback on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and inspection feasibility during NPI and production ramp-up. + Support customer, regulatory, and AS9100 audits. **Required Qualifications** + 3+ years of aerospace/defense quality assurance experience in an AS9100-certified environment. + Hands-on experience in Receiving, In-Process, and Final Inspection. + Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs. + Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and GD&T. **Additional Information** Pay: $32 - 50/hr Shift: 7am - 3:30pm Generous annual equity package and potential bonuses **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carson, CA 90745. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
