Serves as primary QPA contact for data analysis/reporting. Presents Quality topics as well as data analysis/reports to leadership committees as needed. Provides leadership level analysis for strategic and operational quality driven activities from the practice. Applies basic predictive analysis for complex quality projects. May facilitate/co-facilitate quality improvement efforts and applies improvement methodologies (including lean, six sigma, TQM, human factors design, other tools/methods) to increase efficiencies, decrease costs, reduce variability, uncover cause/effect, reduce errors/defects and involve all appropriate personnel. Understands and considers both business/practice and technical needs of customers. May also provide clinical expertise and consultation to support quality measurement and analysis for specific clinical areas. Defines/documents business requirements and objectives and applies analytical thinking and discipline while collaborating with other quality team members to translate into a development and change management plan. Implements the plan with the goal of providing a quality deliverable/product or process that meets the objectives and aligns with quality standards. Acts as a change management leader for Quality Management Services, institutional and enterprise priorities. Demonstrates excellence in correspondence and in-person communication. Works in partnership with customers/stakeholders (internal/external) to develop a solid knowledge base of needs/methodologies to support both routine/ad hoc requirements and requests and ensures alignment within the organization (institutionally and at the enterprise level). Engages in performance improvement (QI) teaching and coaching in the classroom, in collaborative settings and on an individual basis as needed. Advises educational/curriculum development activities as needed. Promotes innovation across the institution/enterprise by helping teams identify ways to improve services/strategies. Independently coaches and/or manages moderate to difficult QI initiatives at the local, institutional and/or enterprise level. Demonstrates commitment to professional growth through focused continuing education, mentor relationship and peer review. Submits/publishes expertise-related articles in continuous quality improvement, scholarly, or peer-reviewed journals and/or presents at nationally-recognized conferences as opportunities arise. Demonstrated knowledge and application of QI methodologies with proven ability to successfully facilitate and lead QI teams. Knowledge/experience within all shields of Mayo Clinic is preferred. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps. **Qualifications** Master's degree in one of the following fields with an emphasis in quality/operations: nursing, business administration, healthcare administration, systems engineering, organizational development, human factors or similar field plus 5-7 years of relevant experience, with specific emphasis in: quality/performance improvement, customer service, systems analysis, group leadership and facilitation, interpersonal communication and team building, OR Bachelor's degree in same fields plus 7-10 years of relevant experience. Candidates with a healthcare background are preferred. Strong knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling and integration, and analytical tools such as Business Objects, Crystal Reporting, SQL Script, Tableau, or similar programming and analytical tools is preferred. Technical expertise and proficiency in use of office and process improvement related tools, such as MS Excel, Word, Access, Project, Visio or other process mapping software, statistical and survey packages is required. Knowledge and solid understanding of, and demonstrated experience applying continuous quality/service level improvement concepts. In-depth understanding of human relations, group dynamics, change management, and quality/performance improvement methodologies. Knowledge of management principles and techniques, problem-solving methodologies and analytic techniques. Knowledge of statistics, data analysis and graphic displays of information. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities, skilled at consulting and working collaboratively with Mayo Clinic staff of all levels. Other abilities include flexibility, change agent, and proven ability to engage others. Encourages and stimulates innovative thinking under adverse conditions and short deadlines. Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects effectively and provides support and/or services as a member on institutional committees. Understanding and experience with broad set of methodologies and projects. In-depth understanding of core institutional processes. Exceptional time management, communication and facilitation skills. Current on healthcare trends and institutional changes. Serves as mentor for Quality Performance Analyst level I & II staff. Viewed as QPA "expert" for technical (methodologies, tools), institutional, and healthcare issues.
