Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.

The Quality Office Engineer at BlueOval SK will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the team.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Sets up and reviews/revises the quality standard documents (work manual, standard operation process, work guidelines)Leads communication and meetings with relevant departments for the review/revision of quality standard documentsPlans, drives, and coordinates the certification initiatives (IATF 16949)Reviews certification results and publish a report on non-conforming practices that were pointed out during the certification processPlans, drives, and coordinates follow-up efforts including root cause analysis, request of corrective actions, results review and effectiveness verification of corrective actionsSchedules the post-certification audit with certification authority and designate the target departmentSupports the conduct of post-certification audit and report the resultsPlans the annual internal audit plan including system, process/product audit and special auditPlans and conduct an internal auditReviews the non-conformity reportReviews, approves or dismisses the objections filed by the target departments regarding the audit resultsPublishes the internal audit result reportDrives the efforts to come up with corrective actions regarding non-conformities and monitor the progressConducts the pre-audit check for the items of gate auditReviews the mandatory documents for the PLM registrationPrepares and supports the gate auditAnalyzes training needs for the quality management including quality standards and certification requirementsDesigns the quality trainings in-house or select the qualified vendor for the trainingPlans and conducts the annual/regular/special quality training programsConducts the training effectiveness survey and improve the program based on the analysisManages the operation/investment budgets regarding quality management

Minimum Requirements:

Must possess the ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through route cause analysis and drive change back to the production departments. Must have the necessary skill set to have job placement flexibility and the expectation to rotate to various positions within the plant such as Production or QualityMust display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating SystemMust demonstrate the ability to execute to achieve results, while organizing and managing multiple prioritiesMust have the ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary)Must have strong written and verbal communications skillsAbility to support any shift in a 7-day work patternCandidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phaseCandidate must be willing to work remotely and in-person at temporary facilities as needed during initial plant start-up phaseSuccessful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldPossess certifications such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or VDA 6.3 Examiner.Possess 3–5 years of relevant experience in planning and managing quality systemsStrong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional teamAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft OfficeAbility to read & speak proficiently in English and Korean
