**The Opportunity**
We have an immediate opportunity for a Quality Manager Training & Document Control in our Lake County, Abbott Park, IL location.
As the Quality Manager, you will lead the team responsible for Global Quality System Training and Documentation Controls teams. Working independently and in consultation with the Director, this role partners with subject matter experts, key stakeholders, project leaders, regulatory and compliance teams, and management to create, enhance, and optimize educational materials, processes, and platforms.
The role sets departmental goals, ensures performance against those goals, and drives continuous improvement. It ensures the quality of services meets internal and external customer requirements and consistently applies effective, cost‑efficient, and industry‑best practices. The position requires sound judgment in planning, organizing, and executing work, while monitoring the performance and development of direct reports. The incumbent stays current with developments in relevant fields of expertise.
**What You'll Work On:**
**Training and Documentation Center Program Development**
+ Lead the design, development, and implementation of computer-based training; prioritize projects with stakeholders and communicate progress.
+ Work with subject matter experts to assess and define training and performance needs for Quality System programs.
+ Apply instructional design and adult learning principles to select appropriate solutions and design strategies.
+ Establish and manage key internal and external partnerships to support curriculum development and ad hoc training needs.
+ Lead the documentation center to ensure that Quality System and corporate level documents governing how work is done are accurate, controlled, accessible, compliant, and consistently managed.
+ Continually innovate through new technologies and methodologies for developing and distributing training.
+ Define and measure key performance indicators to track department effectiveness and service levels.
**Leadership and Team Management**
+ Provide management, coaching, and professional guidance to direct reports with a focus on developing functional, interpersonal, and leadership capabilities.
+ Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, guidance, and discipline of supervised employees; assist employees in understanding and adhering to company policies and practices.
+ Accountable for the performance of subordinates and the work of managed subcontractors.
**Quality System Compliance**
+ Maintain strong knowledge of the Quality System and ensure compliance with all relevant procedures and requirements.
+ Ensure established Quality System training processes and procedures are followed and properly documented for business unit employees.
+ Serve as the accountable leader for assessing and implementing training needs for Global Quality Corporate and AQR divisional documents.
**Collaboration and Communication**
+ Maintain positive and collaborative communications with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors at all levels.
+ Adhere to corporate standards for branding, governance, and documentation.
+ Comply with U.S. FDA and global regulatory requirements as well as company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
**Required Qualifications**
+ B.A./B.S. in Education, Science, or related field.
+ Minimum of 7 years of progressive industry experience, including at least 4 years in a drug, food, or diagnostic/medical device Quality function with responsibilities in Training and/or Document Control.
+ Strong working knowledge of the Quality System.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with learning management systems, document management systems, or other technical platforms.
+ Demonstrated customer‑service orientation and a collaborative working style.
+ Strong critical-thinking skills with the ability to redefine and improve processes and tools supporting a large, dynamic organization.
+ Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills with the ability to hold others accountable.
+ Ability to understand and comply with U.S. FDA regulations and applicable company procedures, policies, and rules.
+ Proficiency with personal computer applications, including training systems, databases, spreadsheets, and specialized software.
+ Experience working within a broader enterprise or cross-division business model.
+ Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse environment.
+ Strong leadership skills, including goal setting and delivering respectful, constructive feedback to improve performance and relationships.
+ Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interface at multiple organizational levels.
+ Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines consistently.

The base pay for this position is $99,300.00 – $198,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
