Job Title: Quality Manager (BHL, CWL & Telehandler)
Salary: £63,500 - £78,000 depending on experience
Contract: Full time & permanent
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
The Opportunity:
As the Quality Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of quality strategies, systems, and control plans to ensure product reliability and compliance. You will manage internal and external audits, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and embed Voice of the Customer (VoC) processes to translate customer feedback into measurable quality enhancements. This role is key to fostering a high-performance zero defect culture and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
What You Will Do:
As the Quality Manager for BHL, CWL and TH products, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
Developing quality assurance strategies, processes, guidelines, and control plans to ensure the quality and reliability of manufactured products.
Recruiting, developing, and leading staff to achieve personal and organizational goals, while promoting a culture of zero defects and continuous improvement.
Ensuring adherence to customer requirements and product/service specifications to meet or exceed customer expectations, including the implementation of Voice of the Customer (VoC) methodologies to translate customer feedback into actionable quality improvements.
Managing quality audits analysing product development and manufacturing procedures to identify deviations and implement corrective actions.

What You Can Demonstrate:
Planning & Problem Solving – Level: Extensive Experience
Demonstrates effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational, tactical and strategic planning in support of the overall business plan, anticipating and adapting to changing priorities. Capable of monitoring progress, implementing countermeasures while capturing lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
Quality Management & Risk – Level: Extensive Experience
Applies advanced knowledge of quality assurance tools and standards (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9000), interprets statistical results, and leads quality reviews. Skilled in identifying quality risks across the product lifecycle, contributing to crisis response, and aligning risk mitigation strategies with business objectives.
Collaboration – Level: Extensive Experience: Fosters cross-functional collaboration by establishing shared goals, promoting inclusive communication, and enabling agile decision-making. Builds environments that support teamwork across diverse groups and functions.
What You May Have:
Qualified Six Sigma Black Belt methodologies, including Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control (DMAIC) and Define, Measure, Explore, Develop, Implement (DMEDI)
Proven successes demonstrated in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Supplier Quality
Demonstrable knowledge of quality tools and techniques, including:
Preventive: Caterpillar Quality Management System (CQMS), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Customer Acceptance Validation (CAV) enabling processes (Torque, Weld, Leak-Free, Contamination, Electrical, Paint)
Control: Control Plans, Standard Work, Incoming Quality Audit (IQA), Quality Gates (QG), In-Process Validation (IPV), Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), Pre-Delivery Audit (PDA), Quality Alerts and Holds
Corrective: Built-In Quality (BIQ), STOP Process, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA)
