Quality Manager
This role is responsible for managing and leading the Quality Department according to JTI quality standards, leading all Quality activities to ensure product Quality and consumer satisfaction, through systematic activities in monitoring, maintenance, and improvement of quality, prioritisation, and allocation of resources (staff and finance) in all areas of the Quality Department. This position coordinates trial activities on site, being the single point of contact (SPOC) with R&D/PD. Moreover, it ensures ISO 9001, HACCP and Contamination Prevention standards and procedures are in place, actively contributes to IWS routines and supports production team as required
Position
As Quality Manager, you will:
Leadership
Oversee and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring effective QA procedures and policies. Act as a Quality servant leader, owning the Quality DMS, supporting IWS routines, and maintaining shopfloor presence. Lead NTM Incoming Material Inspection and implement Insect Infestation Management guidelines. Drive complaint investigations with Production, ensuring root cause analysis and preventive actions. Monitor QMS performance, lead audits, and ensure ISO 9001 and HACCP compliance. Promote a quality culture and facilitate cross-functional collaboration. Coach teams on IWS tools and principles aligned with site deployment
KPI Management
Analyse product and process data to define and implement corrective actions. Support CAPA implementation and ensure PDCA effectiveness. Liaise with Global functions for benchmarking and best practice adoption. Apply IWS methodologies to eliminate quality losses
Annual Strategic Plan & Special Project
Manage Quality cost center resources to meet departmental needs. Align ASP quality KPIs with Factory and Global requirements. Coordinate trials with global teams, ensuring production readiness and timely reporting. Lead Quality-related DMS activities within the IWS framework
New Product Development
Support NPD projects with internal and global teams. Organise trials, track results, propose corrective actions, and coordinate equipment improvements. Manage budgets, BAP updates, and ensure material availability and SAP accuracy. Coordinate sampling and trial instructions with Production and QA
People Management
Lead and develop QA/QC teams for high performance and growth. Identify training needs and coordinate development plans. Recruit, motivate, and guide team development and succession planning. Ensure staff training aligns with global/local standards and policies
Department Setup
Conduct appraisals, identify training needs, and ensure safe work practices. Recruit new staff and define processes to meet Nordic Snus Factory standards
Other Responsibilities
Represent the company professionally and act as management representative. Ensure compliance with JTI standards, policies, and improvement programs. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure effective departmental communication
Requirements:
University Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or similar) At least 5 years of experience working in food production and/or quality in food industry Continuous improvement experience of all Quality Management System activities IWS experience: coach and develop teams in IWS principles and tools connected with Quality ASP experience Quality servant leadership Experience in Incoming Material Inspection, finished product quality inspections Corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) and PDCA implementation Trials coordination experienc Experience with Quality Information/Data Systems and Digital Tools will be a plus People leadership Supporting Management with updating budgets English written and spoken fluently (Swedish is an advantage) Good knowledge of MS Office, QIMS and SAP
