Quality Manager
Job Title: Quality Manager Job Description The Heat Treatment Quality Manager will oversee aerospace heat treatment processes to ensure compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, and AMS 2750. This role requires hands-on experience with vacuum heat treating, solution treating, and other thermal processes for aerospace alloys. The manager will lead quality audits, supervise technicians, and drive continuous improvement using tools like FMEA, SPC, and CAPA. A strong understanding in metallurgy and quality systems is essential, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Candidates should hold a technical degree and relevant certifications, with leadership experience in a regulated aerospace environment. Responsibilities + Oversee aerospace heat treatment processes and ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and AMS 2750 standards. + Lead and manage quality audits and supervise a team of technicians. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives using FMEA, SPC, and CAPA tools. + Prepare for and manage NADCAP heat treat audits and customer quality audits. + Interpret aerospace part drawings, process specifications, and material certifications. + Conduct metallurgical laboratory testing and evaluate microstructure techniques. + Ensure on-time delivery and uphold strict quality standards. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline. + Certification or training in AS9100, NADCAP, and AMS 2750. + 5+ years of hands-on experience with aerospace heat treatment processes. + 3+ years in a quality assurance leadership role within an AS9100- or NADCAP-certified aerospace environment. + Proficient in quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, CAPA, PPAP, and Root Cause Analysis. + Experience with ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Additional qualifications in CQI-9, ISO 9001, or Six Sigma. + Lead Auditor certification (AS9100 or ISO 9001) is a plus. + Familiarity with aerospace alloys like titanium, Inconel, aluminum, and stainless steels. + Experience in failure analysis and microstructure evaluation techniques.
