Profile

The Quality Manager is the designated “Responsible Person” with responsibility for overseeing all quality activities (QC and QA) that pertain to the sourcing, manufacturing, testing and quality release of materials supplied from Girvan site. This will include managing staff, developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems and reliability testing for the organizations products and/or development process.

Responsible for advising and supporting management and local departments in the maintaining and continued improvement of the Food Safety & Quality System, site GMPs and operating standards

The Quality and Regulatory manager reports to the Site Manager, with dotted line to QFS Lead.

Responsibilities

General

Ensure 100% compliance with site and Corporate safety, environmental and ethical policiesEnsure effective communications with internal and external stakeholdersFacilitate a culture of continuous improvement through identifying and implementing improvements in works systems, process and people development through setting and managing annual objectives, identifying and reporting on KPI’s , and managing remedial actions for all adverse performance.Responsible for overseeing induction/training programmes for site hygiene, food safety and appropriate Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to ensure quality of product and service.

Management of Quality (Quality Systems, Products and Process)

Designated responsible person for oversight of Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities conducted on siteResponsible person for company's Quality system, policies and practices according to the relevant norms and Global Policy to ensure ISO9001, FSSC22000 and appropriate GMP compliance.Maintain contact with authorities related to food safety and regulatory compliance.Perform management and product reviews as required by relevant quality certifications and to support customer requirementsManage internal audits system, preparation and control of audit programs.Manage site customer and regulatory visits and audits, as well as action plans that may be required as a consequence of these auditsFinal approval of SOP's and other controlled documents.Manage incidents and crises as a member of the site’s crisis team.Manage customer & supplier complaints (investigation, response and where appropriate, corrective and preventative actions)Manage a quality system & documentation for customers and suppliers.Responsible for supplier & contract manufacturers risk assessment based including foreign supplier verification programme as part of FSMA compliance and provide audit support to the business as required.Provide support to IFF Technical team in completion of customer information requestsManage non-conformances, facilitate containment actions, and and where appropriate assist in root cause analysis to identify corrective and preventive measures; and agree processes for verifying effectiveness of actionsResponsible to make sure maintenance & calibration of quality critical measuring equipment is managed as required by the responsible person.Coordination & Supervision of QC and activities related to Incoming and Outgoing products and productions.Liaise with Product Management & Technical Support on more complex technical issues & questions and support business opportunities

Regulatory

- Collaborate & coordinate with the Business Unit regulatory team in regards to regulatory topics.

- Responsible for legal compliance with all needed regulatory requirements related to Quality, Food Safety and Pharmaceutical excipient GMP’s

- Responsible to keep colleagues within the site up to date with new regulatory legislation and guidelines associated with food and excipient pharmaceuticals

- Responsible for declarations related to regulatory status within the scope of the function
