Leader of the Texas plant Quality team and activities. Partners with the production team, engineering, product management, and sales to deliver cost of quality metrics for the site. Responsible for all aspects of quality including both internal and external quality metrics – Warranty, Yield, RMA, Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), Scrap etc. Owns and drives the development and execution of the quality strategy for the site and leads the team to execute on delivery of the cost for quality operating plan for the business. Ensure the quality of the parts produced at Gatekeeper Systems meet all customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Integral member of global quality team, with quality ownership from internal to external metrics for the site.Champion for the quality management system for the site, ensuring the Texas plant is aligned with business wide quality system tools and procedures.Owns first pass quality yield developing action plans to address top in plant issues impacting quality yield.Responsible for any findings from the area(s) from immediate containment, the CAPA process, and permanent corrective actions which prevent re-occurrence.Owns scrap for the site and drives continuous year-over-year improvements and reductions in top scrap drivers.Represent the larger business quality team, using the Quality Management System and Lean principles, supporting on-time and on-budget implementation of site quality objectives.Manage Quality staff assigned including defining projects and daily responsibilities to meet goals and metrics.Analysis of Warranty, RMA, Cost of Quality, and damage data and top floor issues, identifying opportunities and developing plans to correct.Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly data monitoring including trend analysisHighlight negative trends and abnormal conditions, identify root cause(s), develop plans and procedures for resolution.Interface with Engineering and Supply Chain team. Communicate and ensure top supplier issues are being addressed and managed. For supplier changes, ensure change control process adherence, participate in technical reviews, and assess overall readiness for the supplier change.Support Field Quality to ensure quality controls are in place for rework/reprogramming completed at supplier sites or warehouses.Interact with Service organization to exchange information about service calls and concerns as needed. Develop plans to address any field service concerns and partner with service execution leader to ensure field is appropriately supported.Provide leadership and guidance to transform baseline quality information into opportunities and targets, set plant quality goals, communicate, and ensure adoption by cross-functional team, and develop plans to deliver. Establish the unity of purpose for quality, set direction and ensure progress.Identify critical processes where manufacturing control plans will be required and ensure they are adequately documented, manufacturing site supports, and they are implemented into production.Drive awareness and utilization of Proactive Quality Tools (error proofing, pokey-yoke, line interlocks) to maximize impact on ongoing operations.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
5 years manufacturing experience with 2 years quality leadership experienceBachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.Strong problem solving, influencing/ negotiation skills, strict attention to detail, ability to work well as a leader, independently & in a team setting.Able to speak/present information in front of groups, internal & externalKnowledge of & adherence to Quality systemsAbility to build productive internal/external working relationships regulatory and policy requirementsEffective interpersonal skills & good verbal/written communication skillsComputer Skills: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
