Quality Lead
Quality Lead About the Role System One is seeking a Quality Lead to oversee and coordinate all activities within the Quality Department for our client. This role ensures that products meet established standards of quality and reliability through rigorous inspection, testing, and compliance processes. Key Responsibilities + Perform inspection and testing activities in line with quality plans, engineering specifications, and procedures. + Review Material Test Reports (MTRs) for compliance with applicable codes and customer requirements. + Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of incoming materials and products. + Document inspection and testing results clearly, indicating pass/fail status based on established criteria. + Manage nonconforming products according to quality system procedures. + Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications accurately. + Apply knowledge of industry welding codes and standards, including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII. + Utilize precision and non-precision inspection tools and equipment effectively. + Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to define and interpret product quality criteria. + Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as needed. + Train or assist in training team members on quality processes. + Prioritize tasks independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Supervisory Responsibilities + Directly supervise up to 10 employees. + Plan, assign, and review work; evaluate performance; address complaints and resolve issues in compliance with company policies and applicable laws. Qualifications + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Excel) and BI tools (e.g., PowerBI). + Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. + Experience in manufacturing or supply chain environments preferred. + Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Education & Experience + High school diploma or GED required. + Experience with calibration of inspection and test equipment preferred. + Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and Positive Material Identification (PMI). + Non-Destructive Testing certification preferred; experience with PMI and UT thickness testing is a plus. + Forklift operation experience preferred.
