Thermo Fisher Scientific, Filtration and Separation Division (FSD) Meriden, Connecticut facility is seeking a Quality Assurance Microbiology Technician to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

As a Quality Assurance Microbiology Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals from around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Completing testing of filtration products in accordance with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality control plans.Performing all general laboratory functions including preparing biological media, reagents, glassware, and equipment for bacteriological and chemical testing while maintaining a sufficient supply of consumable materials for completing tasks.Environmental monitoring of air and water including bioburden, bacterial endotoxin and viable & non-viable particulate.Issuing Certificates of Analysis and Certificates of Compliance as requested.Assisting in the management of non-conforming material and out of specification investigations.Participating in the development of new test procedures and modification of existing procedures as necessary as well as participating in ongoing product and process improvement efforts.Maintaining a well-organized, sufficiently detailed laboratory notebook documenting work and analyses performed; enters data into appropriate databases as necessary.

Education

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

High school/G.E.D. level of education or equivalent experience through training is normally required to apply knowledge of skills and methods instructed in craft or vocational/technical areas. Must have a complete understanding of quality procedures, techniques, statistical sampling, products, and equipment.B.S. Degree in Microbiology or Life Sciences is preferred.ASQ Certification as a Quality Technician or equivalent is desired and encouraged.Experience

1-3 years of related laboratory experience required.

Ability to work and communicate with all levels of production personnel.Collaborative work style.Good written and verbal communication skills that include excellent data collection and management.Flexible and responsive to changing priorities; able to multi-task; good organizational skills; attention to detail.Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power BI.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $21.82–$32.72.
