Our client, a leader in the healthcare industry, is seeking a Quality Lab Associate to join their team. As a Quality Lab Associate, you will be part of the laboratory team supporting critical healthcare operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician**
**Location: Marion (North Cove), NC –** **_Onsite_**
**Duration: 8 months (possibility of extension or conversion)**
**Summary**
Responsible for reading plates for Environmental Monitoring (EM), Bioburden, and special project testing. Performs microbiological testing and records results in compliance with regulatory standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Operate lab equipment: laminar flow hoods, autoclaves, incubators, etc.
+ Read plates and enter results into LIMS
+ Initiate paperwork for microbial out-of-limit investigations
+ Perform monthly safety audits and maintain clean work environment (6S principles)
+ Conduct growth promotion testing and media sterility verification
+ Approve documentation: microbial ID forms, media production logs, incubator logs
+ Assist with monthly Microbial Identification report
+ Prepare media (e.g., TSA, TSB) for testing
+ Perform Thermal Death Time testing
+ Maintain general housekeeping of the lab
**Qualifications**
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
+ Familiarity with LIMS and quality-based systems
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
+ Understanding of lab instrumentation and aseptic techniques
+ Knowledge of cGMP, GLPs, FDA, USP microbiological testing standards
+ Good documentation skills (GDPs)
+ Effective communication with peers and supervisors
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
**Education & Experience**
+ B.S. in Microbiology, Biology, or related field
+ 0–2 years of experience
+ Minimum 1 year in Pharmaceutical/Medical Device industry preferred
