Quality Inspector- Welding Structural/Piping (Nationals Only)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Quality Welding Inspector is responsible for executing Quality Control activities and implementing the project Quality Management System requirements in conformance with CLIENT’s quality management processes relating to the fabrication of the SDC Jacket.
Execute the Project Quality Plan within the construction activities of the project.
Implement CLIENT’S Engineering and Quality Management Guidelines.
Provides guidance, advice and training to project team, contractors, suppliers, inspectors and third parties as required to confirm understanding of the project Quality objectives
Support and facilitate implementation of Right 1st Time program.
The Quality Inspector should manage the necessary resources required to meet the inspection and surveillance activities identified in the construction contractor Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and the construction schedule.
Monitor and support contractor and sub-contractors’ quality oversight activities (e.g., welder qualification, inspection, witnessing critical tests, and reviewing inspection reports) to ensure procured materials, equipment, and constructed components are verified and executed in accordance with approved ITPs and construction schedule.
Review the construction contractors’ Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and other relevant quality documentation.
Identify risks in the contractors and sub-contractors which may lead to audits being required to be carried out by the project Quality Engineer/Quality Lead.
Confirm that statutory inspection requirements are complied with during construction of the facilities and ensure the competency levels of personnel involved in construction activities. Participate at audit as requested.
Verify CLIENT’s Inspection, Oversight, and Witnessing of the constructed components is executed in accordance with approved ITPs and complete the oversight check sheets as per the Oversight plan. Contribute to the quality observations program.
Facilitate the project activities to handle contractor nonconformances, deviations and concession requests.
Coordinate project activities for final inspection, punch list and release of constructed equipment to commissioning.
Confirm that all relevant quality documentation, testing and inspection results are properly documented, complete and handed over in accordance with the information handover specification.
Capture quality-related lessons for future projects via the Local and ETP/Connexus Shared Learning System.
Incorporate applicable quality-related lessons learned from other projects.
Contribute to the project quality improvement process by the capture and assessment of non-conformances and concessions, and the implementation of the immediate containment actions arising.
Provide trend data from the contractor deviation and concession process to allow interventions to be made for high risk and recurring issues and quality KPIs.
Other quality related tasks assigned by Quality Lead.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
  Minimum:  Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering. SECTION 5:  TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Piping / Mechanical Inspector / Structural Inspector CSWIP 3.2, PCN Level 2 or AWS QC1-Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Radiographic Interpreter — CSWIP/PCN Level 2 ISO 9001 lead Auditor or ISO 9001 Internal Auditor preferred Coating Inspector CSWIP Painting Inspector - Grade 2/3 CSWIP Painting Inspector - Grade 1 (Offshore) NACE level II Insulation qualifications with selected insulation system vendor (ULVA) Passive fire protection qualification with selected PFP vendor TSA application techniques NDE Inspector CSWIP Level 2 (in applicable NDE techniques) Radiographic Interpreter — CSWIP/PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Inspection - CSWIP/PCN Level 2 (3.1, 3.2, 3.8, 3.9) Automatic Ultrasonic Inspection knowledge and Interpretation Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) Approved Magnetic Particle Inspection — CSWIP/PCN Level 2 Dye Penetrant Inspection — CSWIP/PCN Level Electrical Inspector Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering Valid CompEx (or equivalent) Certificate Hawke Cable Gland Training Course Swagelok Training Course ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Applicable technical qualifications relevant to construction of Offshore Jackets / Topsides Computer literate (MS programmes — Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Minimum 5 years in Quality Assurance, Control in Oil and Gas industry Familiar with health, safety, environmental, commercial and quality issues. Capable of identifying problem areas early and proactively resolving issues. Good communicator, written and oral, computer literate. Team player and good motivator DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
