Quality Inspector - Welding
As an experienced Quality Inspector – Welding, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing all welding-related inspection and quality activities on a fast-paced project site. You will ensure welding work is completed in full compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Working closely with the Project QA/QC Manager, you will support the implementation and maintenance of rigorous quality standards to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality installations.

You are a detail-oriented problem solver with a strong commitment to continuous improvement, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance inspection processes and project outcomes. Your technical expertise and hands-on inspection experience will play a critical role in ensuring welding integrity and successful project turnover.

Essential Responsibilities 

Coordinate and perform piping system walkdowns in preparation for system turnover 

Conduct and coordinate welding inspections and provide regular inspection status updates 

Perform visual welding inspections on pressure piping and structural steel installations 

Coordinate and track hydrostatic testing activities 

Manage Welding NDE tracking programs, including data entry and reporting 

Coordinate PWHT activities in accordance with code requirements and review PWHT charts for compliance 

Verify welding activities comply with approved WPS, ITPs, and applicable codes 

Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency 

 

Qualifications 

CWB Level II Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) 

Minimum 4+ years of related welding inspection experience 

Demonstrated ability to manage and follow quality procedures and inspection processes 

Strong understanding of inspection requirements to approved ITPs and applicable codes 

Ability to interpret CSA W59, ASME B31.3, and ASME B31.1 codes 

Proficient in interpreting ASME welding procedures, including differences between carbon steel, stainless steel, and chrome alloys 

Familiarity with welding processes including SMAW and GTAW

14 / 7 shift rotation 

 

Compensation

$80,000.00 - $110,000.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
