Quality Inspector
**Job Title: Quality Inspector** **Job Description** As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for selecting products for tests at specified stages in the production process. You will test products for various qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics. You will record test data per inspection plans and apply statistical quality control procedures where appropriate. You will evaluate data, write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards, and recommend modifications to achieve optimum quality within equipment capabilities. **Responsibilities** + Maintain and analyze inspection data in SPC software, analyze capability, and determine appropriate actions for deviant conditions. + Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics per blueprint and/or customer-specific requirements. + Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into the computer for SPC analysis. + Perform in-process inspection and first-piece approval of parts utilizing OGP, Keyence, CMM, comparator and/or hand instruments, gauges, and fixtures. + Set up, develop/program, and run CMM, Keyence, and OGP programs on new launches, existing production, prototypes, tooling, and other items as directed. + Accurately interpret blueprints, including all GD&T symbols, and utilize information when inspecting parts. + Perform raw materials and outside services inspection including physical verification of dimensions and gauges and review all specific documents, standards, and clauses indicated on the purchase order. **Essential Skills** + 2-3+ years of quality inspection experience + 2-3+ years of experience working in a production environment + Basic reading, writing, and math skills/knowledge + Proficiency in using computers + Ability to work overtime after regular shifts for additional inspection coverage if requested **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 1-3+ years of experience working in metals or metal stamping + Experience operating or working with CMM programs **Why Work Here?** Join a family-owned company with a strong tradition and an excellent opportunity to grow. You will work in a clean facility with a team of fewer than 10 people, reporting directly to the production supervisor and 2nd shift team lead. The environment is a metal stamping facility, approximately half a football field in size, which can be loud due to punch presses and other machinery. The temperature can vary, getting hot in the summer and cold in the winter, and you will be surrounded by large machines up to 20 feet tall. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morton Grove, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
