Job Summary:
The Quality Technician position is responsible for ensuring that materials and products meet quality requirements before they are sent to a customer. Assess the condition of the product, from its raw material stage to being a completed product; ensuring that it is not damaged or have any defects. The use of testing and measuring equipment is required to conduct these inspections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in a fast paced environment.
Inspect and Issue materials/tooling for orders.
Perform inspections on parts and complete assemblies utilizing calipers, micrometers and other measuring devices.
Read and interpret drawings.
Maintain Quality Records.
Perform In-House Calibration as required.
Perform Internal Audits utilizing ISO 9001, AS9100 and NADCAP Standards.
Work requires individual to enter plant areas where performance factors such as: heat, humidity, noise, lifting of materials and working around equipment will be encountered.
Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
Other related activities as deemed necessary.
Ability to follow directions carefully and ask questions if unclear of directions.
Ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work with minimum supervision without disturbing others.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
6 months experience working with ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or NADCAP is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Understand and Complete Tasks – Under direct supervision or working individually, able to follow instructions and complete tasks as assigned.
Team Orientation and Interpersonal – highly motivated team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels internal and external to the organization.
Communication – able to effectively express self verbally in a diplomatic, empathetic and tactful manner.
Computer Software – proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and other job related programs.
