Quality Inspector

A great opportunity to develop your career and skill-set within quality inspection, working on-site with a brilliant company based in Blackburn.

A well-known manufacturing business based near Blackburn is recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join their expanding Blackburn-based team, due to a combination of increasing workload and internal promotions. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to join the department as a vital member of the inspection team, focused on ensuring that both goods-in and finished parts are delivered to the highest standard of quality and safety within a global organisation renowned for its technical expertise and commitment to excellence. Along with a competitive salary range of £33,000 - £38,000 per annum (including bonus), this position also offers flexible working hours, generous holiday entitlement and outstanding pension contributions. You will be welcomed into a supportive environment where your attention to detail, collaborative spirit, and willingness to learn are truly valued, with the company able to offer extensive training to develop and expand your existing skill-set.

What you'll do:

Your day-to-day activities will involve examination and inspection of incoming goods and finished components, using both manual techniques and advanced testing equipment. You will be entrusted with maintaining accurate records within the ERP system, generating essential certification documents and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth transition of materials and parts to other departments. By proactively raising concessions when issues arise and tailoring reports for specific customer requirements, you will help drive continuous improvement while supporting your team’s shared goals. Your commitment to cleanliness, safety, and process adherence will set the standard for those around you, making you a valued contributor within this forward-thinking organisation.

What you bring:

To be considered for the role, you’ll need to demonstrate a strong quality inspection background within an engineering, manufacturing or FMCG environment, with good written and verbal communication skills. Ideally you’ll have a mixture of manual and visual inspection experience, with the ability to generate and review complex reports that will be uploaded onto central IT and ERP systems. A huge advantage would be an exposure to using laboratory or scientific equipment for material inspection, such as Rheometers and Viscometers, however in-depth training will be provided to ensure compliance with 3.1 inspection standards.

Employees benefit from being part of an inclusive workplace culture that values collaboration over hierarchy and offers rewards beyond competitive pay. Staff enjoy flexible working arrangements designed around real-life needs; generous holiday allowances that grow with service; substantial employer pension contributions; health cash plans; life assurance; free parking; subsidised meals; cycle-to-work schemes; regular eye tests; long service awards; employee assistance programmes; and bonus opportunities linked directly to company performance.
