**Job Title: Quality Inspector**
**Job Description**
As a Quality Inspector, you will determine and utilize appropriate inspection methods and instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, air gauges, radius gauges, and calipers to complete in-process and final inspections of machined aerospace parts and assemblies. This includes conducting simple to moderate layouts and setups on a surface plate. You will be responsible for initiating nonconformance records and disposition of parts not meeting requirements. You will continually strive to improve inspection effectiveness and efficiency by recommending and supporting the implementation of process improvements. Effective and professional communication with internal and external personnel is essential to identify root causes, troubleshoot and address errors and trends, and negotiate the resolution of non-conforming parts and necessary re-work or re-inspection. Additional duties may be required.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform inspections on newly received goods, work-in-process, and final inspections of machined parts and assemblies.
+ Ensure compliance with engineering requirements and work instructions.
+ Document specific information regarding approvals and non-conforming parts.
+ Involve in problem-solving internally to identify re-work requirements.
+ Provide quality and/or manufacturing process training for manufacturing personnel.
**Essential Skills**
+ Accuracy in reading and interpreting blueprints, planning and engineering documents, quality standards, and customer specifications.
+ Advanced mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions and decimal equivalents.
+ Experience in accurately reading precision measuring instrumentation such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and tape measures.
+ Completion of assigned internal training for Level I Inspectors, with periodic retraining or recertification.
+ Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

+ Quality control and assurance expertise.
+ Experience in production, visual inspection, and using a tape measure.
+ Ability to conduct quality checks and inspections.
+ Capability to work within a quality management system.

**Work Environment**
The work environment involves excessive noise, requiring hearing protection. There is exposure to dust, smoke, mist, fumes, and vapors regularly, and occasionally to extreme temperatures. Hazardous equipment, including forklifts, hand tools, cranes, or other lifting devices, is continually present. Level 1 employees work Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, while Level 2 employees work Friday-Sunday from 5 AM to 5 PM.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, Georgia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $26.00/hr.
