82227BRJob Posting Title:Quality Improvement ConsultantDepartment:AnesthesiaAutoReqId:82227BRStatus:Full-TimeStandard Hours per Week:40 Job Posting Category:AdministrationJob Posting Description:Position Summary/ Department Summary: The Quality Improvement Consultant, a vital part of the Perioperative Division Quality Improvement Team, provides strategic guidance and support for safety and quality in the Cardiac Division, making significant contributions to improving patient care. Key Responsibilities: This Quality Improvement Consultant will be responsible to: • Advise and collaborate with the Perioperative Division staff on safety & quality improvement work. • Provide analysis, management, and methodological support, including developing measurement plans for performance indicators. • Prepare written and graphical reports utilizing appropriate QI data analytics techniques, including the development of dashboards to track performance and highlight opportunities for data-driven improvements. • Provide project management of quality improvement initiatives using project management and QI methodologies. • Coordinate day-to-day activities of various projects and tasks, including meeting logistics, information dissemination, and organization, and creating and tracking project plans/assignments. • Oversee and facilitate production of education materials, surveys, algorithms, and other deliverables as needed. • Provide QI education and mentorship to faculty, residents/fellows, nursing, and other staff. Education: Master's Degree required. Public Health, Healthcare Management or a closely related field Experience: Two years of data management experience in a clinical setting is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience in data management may substitute. Certification: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) is preferred • Working knowledge of the Model for Improvement • Certification and/or license in quality/process improvement, such as Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, is preferred. • Working with clinical teams, including physician participants • Data interpretation tools (SPC, run, control, and Pareto charts, and other measurement tools) and data extraction from data repositories such as Microstrategy • Data analytics software: Excel (Pivot Tables and Charts); REDCap; SigmaXL, SQC, STATA, SAS, and/or SPSS • Project management and quality/process improvement methodologies (LEAN Six Sigma and/or Model for Improvement) • Project management/process improvement software: Smartsheet and MS Visio • Organizational skills to ensure project deliverables and deadlines are achieved • Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, mediate fair solutions, provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations, and well-developed writing skills Boston Children’s Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits including flexible schedules, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, child care and student loan subsidies, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts and discounted rates on T-passes.
