Job Description:
As a Quality Excellence Engineer reporting to the Quality Excellence Manager, you are responsible for supporting quality assurance efforts in yard and supplier qualification activities, ensuring the effective execution of internal and external audits, providing essential inputs for project tenders and early proposal stages, and assisting with critical quality investigations.
Your role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement within the department, with a focus on enhancing GEMS compliance, while also actively contributing to broader organizational initiatives.
Additionally, you will integrate and provide quality assurance insights as part of performance monitoring. Your position is key in promoting quality excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization
Key Responsibilities: Timely review of quality assurance documentation for supplier and yard qualifications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvement. Plan and execute internal, certification, and qualification audits within GRS. Conduct internal and external audits and follow up to ensure timely closure of corrective actions Analyze quality excellence performance, provide status updates on quality excellence activities, and ensure timely reporting meeting department deadlines Deliver continuous improvement initiatives to enhance department performance and efficiency. Contribute to organization-wide improvement initiatives, aligning with broader objectives. Ensure GEMS compliance and support enhancement activities, aligning with organizational requirements. Participate in independent quality investigations outside project activities, supporting thorough analysis and resolution. Assist in identifying root causes of quality issues and developing corrective action plans. Support effective implementation and follow-up. Report key findings, issues, and recommendations to the Quality Excellence Manager, providing insights into decision-making. Support the integration of quality assurance requirements into tenders and proposals. Review related documentation for accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with other departments to address quality excellence related matters, provide feedback to drive improvement Promote a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organization, embedding quality standards in all activities. Support the development and delivery of awareness/training programs on quality processes and procedures, ensuring the team maintains high-quality standards. Measures of Effectiveness: Number of Audits Conducted: Track the number of internal and certification audits supported and conducted. Audit Findings: no missing audit report and on-time closure of audit findings Audit Closure Rate: Monitor the percentage of audit findings resolved and closed. High closure rates reflect effective follow-up. Timeliness of Audit Completion: Assess whether audits are completed within the scheduled timeframes. Documentation Review Time: Measure the time taken to review and provide feedback on QA documentation. Shorter review times reflect efficient processes. Improvement Projects: Track the number and impact of continuous improvement projects supported Timeliness of Improvement Support: Assess whether continuous improvement projects and GEMS activities supported are completed on schedule. Proposal Accuracy: Evaluate the accuracy and quality of QA inputs provided for tenders and proposals. Timeliness of Proposal Inputs: Track whether QA inputs for tenders and proposals are delivered within deadlines. Internal Feedback: Positive performance feedback from internal survey. Education Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, science, or a related quality discipline, with a focus on quality management or relevant field. Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent standard, demonstrating proficiency in auditing quality management systems. Experiences: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, including at least 2 years in a senior-level role. Proven project experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of Project Management Fundamentals, Engineering principles, lifecycle and assurance processes, and construction processes, including fabrication and special processes. Proven expertise in Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9000, ISO/TS 29001, and ISO/IEC 80079-34, with in-depth knowledge of relevant processes and interfaces. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and best practices, including quality assurance techniques. Demonstrated proficiency with quality investigation tools and methodologies, including handling investigations of non-conformance and major quality incidents. Well-versed in root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and corrective action/preventive action (CAPA). Strong knowledge in welding, coating, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), preservation, and Ex (explosive atmospheres). Relevant certifications are an added advantage. Main Skills: Leadership and Team Motivation: Foster collaboration and cooperation to drive a culture of quality excellence throughout organization. Risk Management Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with project quality, proactively addressing potential issues to ensure project success and adherence to quality standards. Advanced Auditing Skills: Strong auditing skills with meticulous attention to detail, capable of developing comprehensive audit plans and evaluating risks inherent in project processes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Effective Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at various levels. Proficient in technical writing to produce detailed audit reports and quality documentation. Influential Persuasion: Ability to present compelling arguments and advocate for quality initiatives effectively, helping to drive consensus and support among team members and stakeholders Adaptability and Prioritization: Strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
