Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Quality Engineer to be based in Sacramento, CA.
SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for supporting the maintenance and continual improvement of the client’s Quality Management System (QMS). This position requires working in the client’s Sacramento office as well as travel to other offices in the Central Valley.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain quality process and procedures relating to the client’s QMS. This includes creation of quality-related documentation, revising current documents, and performing technical editing as the final quality control reviewer for documentationCreate annual quality audit plans based on inputs from the client and support both internal and external quality audits following client procedures and best practices from ISO 19011 guidelinesMonitor and support the issuance, resolution, and closure of open nonconformances and corrective actionsMaintain and improve the client’s nonconformance and corrective action tracking system in SharePointSupport process improvement activities utilizing Lean, Six-Sigma, and other quality improvement toolsSupport the client’s quality-related risk identification and mitigation activities.Review regulatory and legal changes that affect the client’s QMS and support necessary revisions to the client s QMS procedures and processesSupport the development and continuous improvement of quality-related metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)Develop, update, and maintain a lessons learned programProvide ongoing evaluations and recommendations concerning deficiencies/strengths, and potential internal and external risks to the clientProvide quality representation to ongoing handover activitiesProvide additional support as requested by the clientQualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field of study; or relevant experience may be considered dependent upon qualificationsASQ Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) or equivalentASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent10+ years of professional experience in quality management with at least five years working on megaprojectsExperience working in organizations certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001Experience supervising and managing small work teams, tracking budget and developing and completion of tasks and deliverablesProficiency in developing and revising process flowchartsStrong computer and database management skills including SharePoint and Microsoft OfficeProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Solid understanding of process improvements through Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9001, and the Baldrige Performance Excellence frameworkAdditional InformationSponsorship is provided for this role.Travel may be required for this position.About AECOM
